Faux Finishing at a Commercial Scale
Faux finishing is the art of making one surface look like something else entirely - wood, stone, aged metal, patina, leather, marble. JAM Finish Touch has refined these techniques for demanding commercial environments where accuracy, durability, and scale all matter equally.
Wood grain finishing
Our signature capability. We replicate real wood grain on metal, MDF, concrete, drywall, and previously painted surfaces - factory-matched or custom to spec. Indistinguishable from the real thing.
Patina & aged metal effects
Custom-designed patina finishes applied to large-format metal surfaces. We recreate the look of aged bronze, oxidized copper, weathered iron, and verdigris at architectural scale.
Decorative & themed environments

Touch-up & blending after install

The State Capitol required elements throughout the building to be finished to look like real wood - preserving the architectural character of a historic landmark while working within strict preservation guidelines. A high-profile Nashville venue had large exposed wood beams with gaps and voids that needed to be filled and then finished to match the existing aged wood character perfectly. The challenge: matching a natural, heavily textured wood surface in a space where guests are constantly looking up. The result was invisible to the eye.

Every faux finish is only as good as what's underneath. We prep, prime, and condition surfaces to ensure adhesion and longevity.

Finish application
Layered by hand using the techniques appropriate to the effect - grain tools, glazes, specialty coatings, and sealers applied in sequence.

QA & touch-up
We walk every project before sign-off. Post-install touch-up is always available — we stay on call until the project is complete.
